We were delighted to take home two awards at last night's SJA Sports Journalism Awards!
'The English Disease' - our unflinching and empathetic look at football hooliganism's place in the modern world - won the Gold award in the 'Best Podcast' category, while our Head of Narrative Nicky Anderson was awarded Bronze in the 'Ones to Watch - Off Air' category!
We caught up with our Head of Production, Charlie Morgan, the morning after the awards: "I'm delighted for the team to see their efforts recognised by our peers. From Jon and Luke onboarding and developing the idea at the very start; to tireless work from our producing dream team Finn and Nicky; from unrivalled writing, development and narration from our host Sam Diss to best-in-class sound design from the legendary Tom Whalley, this award is a worthy way to cap off what's been a fantastic piece of work. To celebrate the team among so many peers we greatly respect was also a joy. And, to that end, if any of them can tell me where my tie and wallet ended up last night, that'd be great."
Thanks to the judges and everyone involved in creating The English Disease. It's a show we're hugely proud of - make sure you listen here if you haven't already.
